I posted on the 7 covenants in Scripture where the Plan of Salvation is laid out. John Pryor asked me a very good question this morning. I posted on the 7 Covenants that lay out the Plan of Salvation:
- The Sabbath Covenant – between YHVH and creation
- The Edenic/Adamic Covenant – between YHVH and humanity, Adam the chosen signatory
- The Noahic Covenant – Renewed the Adamic Covenant, chose a specific family/bloodline; Noah the chosen signatory
- The Abrahamic Covenant – between YHVH and His chosen bloodline, Abraham the signatory to reveal the “Chosen One” to be from a specific bloodline to fulfill The Heavenly Scroll. To reveal The Law orally.
- The Mosaic Covenant – between YHVH and His chosen bloodline, Moses the chosen signatory ; to reveal the Priesthood, and the Law written in stone.
- The Davidic Covenant – between YHVH and His chosen royal bloodline, David the signatory. To reveal the throne Yahusha would inherit.
- The Yahushaic Covenant (the covenant in which Yahuah provides salvation. The New Covenant if you must) – between YHVH and His chosen REMNANT bloodline, Yahusha the signatory. To transpose all previous 6 into the Spiritual Kingdom of Yahuah. Yahuah’s salvation revealed in the “covenant that bares his name”.
“What about the Phinehas’ covenant of peace in Numbers 25:11??? Is that not the 8th covenant?
Yahuah laid out for Yahusha, through literal bloodlines the roles he would play as mediator of The Yahushaic Covenant. Just like David was given the throne that would be Yahusha’s eternally, Zadok the Priesthood that would be Yahusha’s eternally… Phinehas was given the promise of the covenant of peace, that Yahusha would mediate … eternally.
The Covenant of Peace is another name for The Yahushaic Covenant (as is “New Covenant” and “Renewed Covenant” etc., but the REAL name in keeping with Scripture is that is is the covenant “in his name’s sake” i.e. The Yahushaic Covenant).
Yahusha fulfilled that promise to El’azar through Phinehas; which was a promise made to the Zadok Line of High Priest. Yahusha was “the one this promise was given too”. Giving Yahusha the authority to mediate a “Covenant of Peace” in his name… The Yahushaic Covenant; and to make atonement as High Priest!
6 “I am Yahuah, I have called you in righteousness (to walk The Way of the Nazarene, fulfilling The Law through Mikveh Matthew 3:15, being born again with fire John 3:3-8), I will also hold you by the hand and watch over you (to fulfill the Adoption Covenant Zachariah 3:7), And I will appoint you (Yahusha) as a covenant (of peace) to the people (The Yahushaic Covenant), As a light (life example John 13:15) to the nations (to walk The Way in his footsteps 1 Peter 2:21)
We see John the Great Prophet, foretell that the “mission” of the Messiah would be to bring “peace” in Luke 1:79.
79 to shine (be an example to) on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path (The Way) of peace.”
Then we see Sha’ul, also teach this was Yahusha’s role in the covenant that bears his name, to remove the “enmity” between the two houses of Israel and unite them in “peace”
14 For Yahusha is our peace, who hath made both (Jews and Gentiles) one, and hath broken down (the death decrees in The Law which were which were the) the middle wall of partition between us; 15 Having abolished (nailed the death decrees to the cross) in his flesh which were the cause of the enmity (our fear of the death) toward the law, commandments and ordinances;
Again, we see Sha’ul define The Yahushaic Covenant as a covenant of “peace”
20 and through (covenant with) Yahusha (The Yahushaic Covenant), Yahuah would reconcile to Himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his sacrifice (Yahuah would reconcile creation in covenant with Yahusha).
The defining difference in The Yahushaic Covenant is that we now have peace! Only in this final covenant, Has Yahuah poured out His Spirit, which brings us “comfort” i.e. the Comforter as the fear of death (decrees) has been covered, being nailed to the stake!
In The Yahushaic Covenant, The Law with active decrees known as The Law of Sin and Death (sin and you die) has been replaced now, with The Law of the Spirit of Life (The Law with the decrees against us, for disobedience, has been covered; the definition of Grace leading to Eternal Life for obedience to the INTENT of The Law); so now, The Law leads to life as we are restored to perfect obedience through faith in The Yahushaic Covenant and by following his example of being born again through Living Water and Spirit; disarming the powers and authorities that once held us captive to the fear of death!
We now have a spirit of comfort (the comforter) and are freed from our fear of death. The ‘captives to the death decrees’ have been set free.
I will give you a new heart (for my Law and write my Law on it) and put a new spirit (of loving obedience) in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone (legalistic observance of The Law without love and fear of death ) and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you (to comfort you) and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.
This is one of the primary responsibilities Yahusha has been given as he mediates the “covenant of peace” i.e. The Yahushaic Covenant, fulfilling all the promises to El’azar, to John, to Sha’ul, and to Isaiah as Yahusha would be called by many titles, one of which is The Prince (mediator) of (the covenant of) Peace:
6 “For to us a child is born (born means human birth, begotten means birth as a son of Yahuah “born again” by the Spirit), to us a son (of man) is given, and the government shall be on his shoulders and he will be called Wonderful Counselor, (the perfect image of) Mighty God, (fore) Father of Everlasting (life), and Prince of Peace.”
For more information on this “covenant of peace” or the covenant that bears the name of the mediator… The Yahushaic Covenant, please read my 500 page book, where I break down this covenant, the relationship between Yahuah and Yahusha, overcome incarnation in context, and lay out our roles and responsibilities on the covenant we are now under:
A Nazarene (in the Nazarene School of Divinity) posed a very good question. “Do we today, put on sackcloth and toss ashes over our head?” If so, what is sackcloth, and how do we perform this act with ashes and so forth. How are we to understand this act that seems to be an important ritual in the previous covenant?”
We have to remember, in the “OT” everything was a physical shadow designed to train us for the coming Kingdom; which is Spiritual. So we must approach these things to seek out the Spiritual Intent of these actions. What was this outward “show” of ripping your clothes, putting on “sackcloth”, and tossing ashes up over your heat supposed to show us? What is it teaching us?
That act is an outward demonstration of what is called “fasting and mourning”. Today, fasting has come to mean “go without food” by tradition, but that is nowhere in scripture!
Fasting means “to afflict your soul“; but what does that mean?
Crying out to Yahuah, morning, in this way shows us outwardly what afflicting our soul looks like inwardly. Today, what is important is that we actually do “afflict our soul” not just put on the outward display as the Pharisees loved to do….
Speaking of us today, in The Yahushuaic Covenant, we should have matured beyond this “act”, and truly have a heart for Yahuah and His Will. Our hearts should truly cry out for Him, not outwardly but inwardly; which is what that physical behavior was demonstrating.
The outward act can be faked (as the Pharisee showed us) and means nothing to Yahuah. Yahuah is after our hearts, which only HE sees and we cannot “put on a show” for Him there.
Joel 2 12
“Yet even now,” declares Yahuah, “Return to Me with all your heart, And with fasting, weeping and mourning; 13 And rend your heart and not your garments”.
Sackcloth represents true repentance. Ashes “burnt offerings” or “offering our lives” as we fast/afflict our soul, weep, and mourn inwardly with a heart of flesh (loving heart toward) Yahuah.
